Amlwch Circular

This is a fairly testing walk of approximately 9 kms from Amlwch Port to Llaneilian which means there is some uphill walking required as the route ascends 250m in total. It should take 3 to 3.5 hours at a steady pace and affords wonderful views over the Irish Sea and Point Lynas.

Start at Amlwch Heritage Centre car park Grid Reference SH454934 and head along the Isle of Anglesey Coastal Path past Porth Newydd to SH476929. Take a right turn inland at this point and follow the path to SH478921 just past Ynys Goch.

Turn right towards Pengorffwysfa part of this is along the main road but the path goes off this road after a short distance to meet the main road at Pengorfswysfa at SH466920. Turn left along the road past the crossroads and take the footpath at the side of the telephone box past Abererch to the main road at SH456919. Turn left for a short distance and take the path by Maen Driw at SH453918 to the Amlwch direction past Rhos-lan. At SH448922 by Bod-Ednyfed bach turn right and follow the path towards Amlwch Port, at SH449926 take the path straight ahead joining the Coastal Path at SH449930 to the main road. Turn right here for a short distance along the road to SH454929 and take the path on the left to SH456934 where a left turn will take you back to the car park at the Heritage Centre
