The walk starts and finishes at the car park near Amlwch Heritage Centre at SH 452936 and is a relatively gentle 22km (14 mile) walk which will take some 6 hours with rest stops
On leaving the car park head along the Coastal path towards Point Lynas passing Ffynnon Eilian or St Eilians well. At Porth Eilian head up the newly created part of the Coastal path past the Light House to Point Lynas headland. Here there are wonderful views across to the Great Orme and one of the best places in Wales to see Dolphins and Porpoise and for watching migrating birds, Choughs Gannets and Seals are often here at the tip of the land. Return to Porth Eilian and follow the Coastal Path past Porthygwichiaid to Porth y Aber at SH490903. Here the path heads inland away from the coast past Plasuchaf through Dulas to return to the coast at Traeth Dulas **
At this point leave the Coastal Path and head inland passing Cochwillan and at Tyn Rhos head north up the road past Tyn-rhos-bach. At SH472890 turn left onto the footpath past Ty Mawr to cross the A5025 at SH462894 Follow the path opposite heading towards Gadfa at SH457896 then on to Glan-y-gors-fawr and Trysglwyn Isaf at SH445898 turn left and proceed up the incline on the right to the SH438906 . Turn right following the path around the disused Parys Mountain Mine with its rainbow colours of the former copper workings. Turn right and head towards Henwaith at SH447908 then continue north past Llaethdy Mawr at SH446917 crossing the A5025 at this point. Follow the path immediately opposite heading towards Amlwch and rejoin the Coastal Path at SH449931 to return to the car park
** At the time of high tides at is very difficult to walk from Plasuchaf SH477896 to Traeth Dulas so here is a suggested diversion. At Plasuchaf turn right and head up the lane to Nebo. At SH467903 turn left and follow the footpath towards the A5025 at SH461899. On reaching the main road turn right for about 100m then turn left down the track and follow the footpath towards Parys Mountain joining the original route close to Glan-y-Gors-Fawr and continue as above
