Mynydd Eilian - Parys Mountain

A number of footpaths have recently been improved by the Silver Slashers affording the opportunity for a lovely circular route from Mynydd Eilian to Parys Mountain and back. New stiles have been installed and the restored paths have been way-marked for ease of use.

Start from Mynydd Eilian near to Tan Rhiw at Grid Reference SH470916 heading in the Amlwch direction to SH465914 then cross the road onto the restored footpath to SH455918 . At this point turn left and follow this path towards Cerrigman and at SH455915 turn left and head towards the A5025 road at SH455909. Turn right along the A5025 for a short distance to SH454910, cross the road and turn left onto the path heading towards Parys Mountain.

There are numerous paths to and around Parys Mountain but the map shows a suggested route past Pen-y-corn at SH451907 follow the path left to SH451905 around the pits, head past Ty’n y Mynydd to SH437897, turn right at this point and walk along the road for a short distance to SH435898, turn right and follow this path to SH438906. Turn right around Parys Mountain quarries to SH447908 and head back to the A5025 at Cerrigman SH452912.

Cross the road and take the path opposite heading in a northerly direction to SH455918 and at this point take a left turn onto the road to SH455919, turn right heading towards Pengorffwysfa and at SH466920 turn right to SH465914. Turn left here and return to the start point at SH470916.
