This is a fairly testing walk of 13km (8 miles) from the centre of Penysarn around Parys Mountain and then towards Mynydd Eilian taking in parts of the Copper Coast Walk,. It should take about 4.5 to 5 hours at a steady pace with rest stops
Park in the centre of Penysarn at SH459905 , head past the Ty’n- rhos Inn to the A5025 (SH460899). Cross the road and pick up the path opposite, follow the track down past Pen Bonc to the end and turn left alongside Tyn y Gamdda.. Cross the fields to the stile then left along the track for a short distance then a short distance right across a ladder stile, past Glan-y-gors Fawr heading towards Trysglwyn Isaf at SH445898. Take the path across the pits then turn left to SH432898, head up the road a short distance then take the tract to the left heading to SH429898 where there is a right turn to follow that path heading towards Parys Farm. At SH432907 turn right through the car park and follow the path across Parys Mountain to the track commencing at SH448908.
Walk down this track towards the A5025 at Llaetedy Mawr SH446917. Cross the main road join the path opposite heading towards Bod Ednyfed Bach at SH448922 then turn right onto the path passing Rhos-lan to the road at Maen Driw SH453918. Turn left along the road for a short distance joining the next path on the right following this to the road at SH464914, turn right along this road and take the track on the left hand side heading to Glanrafon. At the end of the track the path turns right alongside the large barn to join a track between old out buildings, again turn right and follow the way marker signs to Rhiwlas Isaf. Head through two gates into the property and follow the track to the main road. Turn right along this road heading down the hill into Penysarn village.
